On August 31 fans of Life is Strange can return to Arcadia Bay in Life is Strange: Before the Storm.
The game follows Chloe Price and her friend Rachel Amber over three planned episodes three years before the events of the first Life is Strange. The relationship between the two will likely provide further context into Chloe, and various characters featured in the first game.
“When Rachel’s world is turned upside down by a family secret, it takes this new-found alliance to give each other the strength to overcome their demons,” a press release from Square Enix stated.
In a move that may be concerning for returning players, Life is Strange: Before the Storm is being developed by a different studio than the original entry. While Dontnod Entertainment created the first game, Before the Storm is currently being developed by Deck Nine Games.
Two videos have been released so far for the game, an E3 trailer available here and a developer diary available here. A regular edition for $16.99 (US) and a deluxe edition for $24.99 (US) are currently available for pre-order.
Life is Strange: Before the Storm is planned for release on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
