Yet you don’t have to be Ninja to get media attention and, like this story proves, you don’t even have to be young to be famous in the world of video game streaming. The COVID-19 pandemic has many of us exploring new hobbies, and tons of new gamers are coming into the fold thanks to the lockdown measures in place around the world.
And if you’ve ever wondered if streaming was for you, well, one Japanese grandmother’s Guinness World Record for it might inspire you. Hamako Mori, who has gamed for 39 years according to HypeBeast, has amassed quite a following and enjoys the spotlight her age has garnered her in the gaming community.
According to the interview, her favorite console is the Nintendo 64 though she enjoys games from all eras. She’s also quite good at them.
“I felt that if I started to play games, life would be really interesting and I wouldn’t have to think about unnecessary things. I’m glad to have lived till this age and I’m glad that I’ve learned how to play video games. I’m enjoying life,” Hamako said of her experience.
