We haven’t heard from the Prince of Persia series in some time, but that has now changed. Previously rumored and leaked, the classic Prince of Persia: Sands of Time game will be set for release Jan. 21, 2021 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The game was announced officially at Ubisoft Forward and came with a trailer which can be seen below.

Previous rumors also had some speculate that this was to be a new Prince of Persia game, but we’ll definitely take a remake.

A series with a storied history on the PC, the Prince of Persia games have run the gamut of gameplay styles from platforming to action-adventure.

In 2013, Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat said the series was on “pause.” While we’re above making an easy time joke here, it seems that the series is back and this could mean more of the Prince if Ubisoft sees some value.

Ubisoft also confirmed that the original 1992 version of Prince of Persia will also be unlockable at some point during gameplay. I’m sure achievement hunters are going to have some mixed feelings on that point.

Did you play the Prince of Persia games? Would you like to see a revival of the series? What do you think of these rumors? Let us know your thoughts on this story in the comments section below if you like.
