Classic arcade game Donkey Kong has a new world record holder as of Dec. 21, 2017. Streaming from Facebook Live, Robbie Lakeman put up a new record game of 1,230,100 points. Lakeman’s attempt beat Wes Copeland’s now second place score of 1,218,000 points, which was achieved May 5th, 2016. Immortalized in the documentary The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, Donkey Kong holds a special place in the history of classic gaming. Lakeman and Copeland have a long history of going head-to-head with world record scores, even changing the title back and forth on the same day on Sept. 16, 2015.
